Constitutional Court to hold its first 'eight-member system' meeting today

Today, the Constitutional Court will hold a meeting of judges for the first time since the formation of the "eight-member system."

The Constitutional Court said the court convened a meeting with acting Chief Justice Moon Hyung-bae to share the current situation and resolve the vacancy of various committees.

The meeting will be held for the first time since Constitutional Court Justices Cho Han-chang and Chung Gye-seon began their terms on the 1st and became an eight-member system, and it is expected that the progress of major cases will be shared with the new judges and countermeasures will be addressed on the agenda.

In particular, issues related to the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk Yeol, which was organized at the 2nd hearing preparation period on the 3rd, review of both sides' answers and opinions, and adoption of witnesses are also expected to be discussed.

The Constitutional Court has designated five hearings, starting with the first hearing date on the 14th and until February 4, and President Yoon said the president will attend on the appropriate date and express his opinion.
