The flight recorder, which will play a key role in determining the cause of the Muan Jeju Air plane disaster, will leave for the United States today.

In addition, the accident investigation committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has transferred two aircraft engines to the airport hangar to investigate major parts.

I'm connecting with the reporter. Reporter Choi Doohee!

First of all, the transfer of the flight recorder to the United States is being delayed?

[Reporter]
The black box, which will play a decisive role in determining the cause of the Jeju Air plane disaster, was originally scheduled to be transferred to the U.S. National Transportation Safety Commission this morning.

This is because the connector of the flight recorder is damaged and lost, making it difficult to extract data in Korea.

However, the YTN report confirmed that the flight was delayed by three hours due to heavy snow at Dulles International Airport near Washington, DC.

As a result, the flight recorder is only scheduled to depart for the United States after 1 p.m. today.

Earlier, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport decided not to disclose the contents of the transcript at the investigation stage, saying that it had finished writing the transcript of the voice recording device, another black box, but that the cause of the accident could not be revealed only by the transcript.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has also launched an investigation into two engines that have been moved to the hangar, right?

[Reporter]
Yes. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has moved two engines on both sides of the aircraft to the hangar and launched an investigation into major parts.

In addition, there is also an investigation into landing gear, which is known not to have worked at the time of the accident.

In addition, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is also looking into the "concrete mound" installation of local risers, which is blamed for the increase in casualties in this disaster.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said it also collected the cockpit that fell off at the time of the accident yesterday (5th) and launched an investigation.

In addition, the runway closure period at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do has been extended once more until 5 a.m. on the 14th for an ongoing investigation.

Earlier, the runway was temporarily closed from immediately after the accident until the morning of the 1st, and the closure period was extended once more until tomorrow (7th) morning, but it was extended again by about a week.

So far, I'm Choi Doo-hee of YTN in the Ministry of Economy.
