Up to 40cm of heavy snow in England and Germany...Airport closures continue.

Heavy snow in northern Europe, including Britain and Germany, caused major disruptions to aircraft operations.

Airport runways have been temporarily closed in Liverpool, Manchester, and Birmingham amid heavy snow of up to 40cm in northern England.

In addition, some major roads were closed and railway lines were suspended.

More than 200 flood warnings have been issued for the relatively mild south of England.

In Germany, more than 120 flights were canceled at Frankfurt Airport, while 68 flights were canceled at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Vaclav Havel International Airport in Prague, Czech Republic, was temporarily closed due to bad weather.
