China's Tibetan Plateau 7.1 earthquake...95 killed and 130 injured.

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake hit the Tibetan Plateau in China.

So far, 95 people have been killed and 130 injured, and the number of casualties is expected to rise further.

A strong earthquake struck the Tibetan Plateau on the border of China and Nepal at around 9:05 a.m. local time.

China's announcement was 6.8 in size and 7.1 in U.S., it said.

More than 2,000 people, including military police and firefighters, have been dispatched to the scene and have begun rescue and search operations.

More than 6,900 residents live within 20 kilometers of the epicenter, and casualties are continuing.

Even major roads are cut off on the 4,259-meter plateau at an average altitude above sea level, making it difficult for rescue teams to access.

With water and electricity cut off, the maximum ambush at Golden Time on the next three days is a cold wave of around -18℃.

Chinese authorities have decided to urgently inject relief funds worth 200 million yuan or about 40 billion won in the central budget.

President Xi Jinping also issued a special order to minimize casualties and make all-out efforts to protect victims.
