The People's Power Media Special Committee raised suspicions of collusion between the Democratic Party and pro-China forces, saying that Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, had a secret meeting with some foreign media, including the Chinese state-run media "Xinhua News Agency," which also serves as an intelligence activity.
Lee Sang-hwi, chairman of the Special Committee on Media, said in a floor meeting yesterday (9th), "Chinese correspondents said that it is not irrelevant to the Chinese Communist Party and that Lee's conversation is likely to be reported to the Chinese government."
Floor spokesman Park Soo-min also issued a comment, urging Lee to refrain from personal diplomatic tastes and consider national interests first, and emphasized that the Democratic Party should also apologize to the party leader's secret foreign press conference.
The Media Special Committee said it will file a complaint against the Democratic Party of Korea's accusation of defamation against Lee Sang-hwi, chairman of the special committee, and his working-level staff, on charges of false accusation and defamation on the 13th.
