The Korea Music Copyright Association is working on a win-win plan with the gym industry, which is in conflict over copyright fees.

The Korea Music and Tourism Association said it is discussing ways to resolve copyright disputes with the gym industry with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

According to the revised copyright law enforcement decree in 2018, if you use copyrighted music at a cafe or fitness center, you have to pay a copyright fee to Hanumjeohyup.

However, it was found that only 7,800 out of 15,500 gyms nationwide paid more than once for copyright fees.

As a result, legal disputes between gym owners and Hanumjeo consultations are also continuing, and the association plans to stop legal action and promote public relations activities to improve awareness first.
