Lee Hwa-young, a former deputy governor of peace in Gyeonggi-do Province who is under arrest on charges of bribery related to the "illegal remittance to North Korea," came to the National Assembly and claimed that the prosecution constantly cajoled and pressured false statements.

Former lieutenant governor Lee made the remarks at the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee's "Hearings on Prosecutor Park Sang-yong's impeachment case."

Former lieutenant governor Lee raised suspicions that the prosecution changed its nature to a case of paying for visiting North Korea after arresting Kim Sung-tae, the former chairman of Ssangbangwool, when no charges were found in the case of Lee Jae-myung's lawyer's payment.

At the same time, he repeatedly claimed that former chairman Kim and himself had made statements for about two months under the pretext of confrontation in a space written "A warehouse" in front of Suwon District Prosecutors' Office No. 1313 and Park Sang-yong's office.

He also added that in the process of conducting so-called "statement seminars" several times, foods that former Vice Chairman Kim wanted to eat, such as galbitang and salmon, were provided.

Earlier, former lieutenant governor Lee said, "I reported to then-governor Lee Jae-myung that he had requested Ssangbangwool to push for the governor's visit to North Korea," partially reversing his previous position that he had "never been involved," but later made false statements under the conciliation and pressure of the prosecution.
