It has been confirmed that the International Football Federation and FIFA have sent an official letter to the Korea Football Association to secure autonomy in football administration.

FIFA warned in an official letter sent with the Asian Football Confederation on the 29th of last month that the Korea Football Association has a legal obligation to ensure that it is not unduly affected by outside influences.

FIFA also stressed that violations of this regulation could be subject to sanctions, including Article 14 of the Articles of Incorporation that "the football associations of each country should not be interfered with by a third party" and Article 15 that "they should be independent from any political interference."

The official letter was sent five days after the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee called in Chung Mong-kyu, president of the association, and Hong Myung-bo, the head coach of the national soccer team, to ask questions on pending issues.
