Now, with the U.S. presidential election just a month away, both Harris and Trump are in full swing in the fight to win centrist votes.

Harris, the Democratic nominee, visited the Republican birthplace and Trump was the first to speak out against the anti-abortion law.

Former President Trump has been eager to visit Michigan, a northern rival state, to denounce Harris's incompetence.

[Donald Trump / Former President of the United States] Even though people were dying in hurricanes, they didn't get help from the federal government. If the liar Harris is in power for another four years, the United States will fall into a dark age, not a golden age.]

Trump first expressed his opposition to the federal anti-abortion law on his social media.

Trump, who was talking about abolishing abortion rights and punishing abortion women, has taken steps to target female voters.

In the meantime, Melania Trump, who rarely expressed her political views, also declared her firm support for abortion rights.

[Melania Trump / Mrs Trump: There is no room for compromise when it comes to the essential rights that every woman has since birth.]

Vice President Harris visited Lipon, Wisconsin, the birthplace of the Republican Party, and appealed for support from moderate conservatives.

Former Representative Liz Cheney, a symbol of anti-Trump forces in the Republican Party and the daughter of "orthodox conservative" Dick Cheney, also supported Harris.

[Liz Cheney / Former Republican Congressman] Trump is fundamentally a threat to democracy. We are witnessing this every day. He is willing to use violence to seize power.]

Harris also introduced supporters who turned their backs on Trump in new campaign ads, stressing that Trump is not a candidate for ordinary people.

"I shot Trump in 2016 and 2020. I thought I would help a hard worker, but it turned out that he was the only one who knew. Trump only takes care of his own aides, the very rich."

In the meantime, a national poll conducted by The Economist showed Harris' lead within the margin of error with 48% of Harris and 45% of Trump.

However, a rival state poll was also announced at the same time that Trump won Michigan and Wisconsin, where Harris was leading.

With a neck-and-neck race and neck-and-neck approval ratings, both Harris and Trump decide a day or two before when and where to campaign.
