According to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 866 patients have died from MPOX (formerly known as monkeypox) on the African continent this year.

In addition, 34,297 suspected cases of Empox have been reported on the African continent this year.

Most of the outbreak cases and deaths came from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Democratic Congo), the epicenter of the variant Empox.

The African continent's M.Fox outbreak has risen to 16 countries this year, as a young man was recently diagnosed with M.Fox for the first time this year in Ghana.

Empox is an acute exothermic rash disease caused by viral infection.

The World Health Organization declared an international public health emergency (PHEIC), the highest level of health alert, in May 2022. It lifted it in May last year.

However, this year, the WHO re-declared PHEIC on August 14 due to the spread of sub-system type 1b (Clade 1b) Empox, a new variant with a relatively high fatality rate and high transmission speed in Africa.
