The Gyeonggi Content Agency (hereinafter referred to as Kyungconjin) has officially launched the mobile game "Business Genius White Sand: World Food Business Challenge" on Google Play Store and Apple App Store as part of its "IP-utilized game production support" project to support small and medium-sized companies' game development using large company content IP.
This game is a Tycoon genre mobile game produced by Arum Games, a game developer in Gyeonggi-do, and is designed based on an entertainment program of the same name featuring Jongwon Baek, a restaurant management expert. Business Genius White Sands' is CJ ENM's representative seasonal IP and has been aired on tvN. In the game, users can experience as if they are a Jongwon Baek, and enjoy the process of expanding the store while preparing food and providing it to customers with cat chefs.
For the development of the game, Gyeonggi Province, CJ ENM, and Arum Games signed an agreement in April 2022. CJ ENM cooperated to use the IP of its popular entertainment show "Business Genius White Sands" as a game, and KyungConjin selected promising small and medium-sized developers to support development costs. As a result, Arum Games developed and released the game for about a year from May 2023 to September 2024.
In particular, CEO Jongwon Baek also readily agreed to use his portrait rights in games and reportedly agreed with the purpose of the project, which allows large companies and small and medium-sized companies to coexist.
KyungConjin has been continuing its IP-based game development support project since 2017 to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized game companies in Gyeonggi Province. Among the games supported so far are "Maka & Ronnie," "Yumi's Cells: The Puzzle," and "Love Revolution: Finding a Wrong Picture," which have been successful with more than 100,000 downloads.
