The global semiconductor industry does not have winter until next year, but Samsung Electronics' winter has already begun, according to an analysis.

At a meeting held at the press room of the Korea Exchange today (8th), Noh Geun-chang, head of the research center at Hyundai Motor Securities, said that Nvidia's next-generation artificial intelligence chip, Blackwell, will be supplied to major cloud service companies at the end of this year.

Taiwan's TSMC has already doubled its production capacity for Blackwell, and Google and Microsoft are also expected to expand their investment in AI data centers, predicting that next year will be hotter to discuss the winter of semiconductors.

As a result, sales in the global memory semiconductor and foundry markets are expected to rise by 41% and 20% from this year, respectively, to record highs next year.

However, Roh said Samsung Electronics is already experiencing winter, noting that its stock price is also sluggish due to Nvidia's delay in approval of 5th generation HBM and weakening foundry competitiveness.

He then said that next year's KOSPI will not be very hot compared to other markets due to Samsung Electronics' winter, and analyzed that Samsung Electronics' reversal is realistic to set the stage for 6th generation HBM4 around late 2026.
