Ukra Media "10,000 North Korean infantry are training in the Far East"

10,000 North Korean infantrymen are training in the Russian Far East to send troops to the war in Ukraine, Ukrainian media Kyiupost reported on the 16th local time.Citing sources from the intelligence bureau of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense,

said Russia's purpose is to deploy North Korean troops near the Ukrainian-Russian border to facilitate troop circulation.

The source said deploying North Korean troops to the border could allow Russia to deploy its forces to other missions.

While Ukrainian media have been pouring out rumors of North Korean troops sending troops to Russia, President Zelensky also said in a speech to Congress that he confirmed North Korea's manpower support through his own intelligence agency, describing it as a "devastation."

On the other hand, Mykola Polisichuk, vice chairman of the Ukraine-North Korea Society, believes the observations have not been fully confirmed and may have been somewhat exaggerated.

"It's too early to talk about the North Korean regular troops' direct participation in the war," he told the Kyiv Post. "Integrating one country's military into another is a complicated process, unlike hiring mercenaries to fill the void."

"If there are North Koreans on the front line, there is a high possibility that they will learn tactics or personnel for equipment maintenance," he said. "Putin seems to be using North Korea to threaten the West while submitting related legislation to the House of Representatives to ratify the North Korea-Russia Treaty."
