Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin received great attention when he announced the "Solomon's Choice" policy, an event for unmarried young men and women in Seongnam City, at the 11th International Conference of "Bloomberg City Lab" in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico.

Mayor Shin presented a successful case of "Solomon's Choice" as a policy measure to strengthen the connection and ties of young citizens in response to Korea's rapid population decline during the "Cities that Spark Love" session of the plenary session.

After presenting the "Solomon's Choice" video, Mayor Shin said he pushed ahead with the project to solve the national challenges of youth alienation and low birth rate at the city level.

He also emphasized, "By providing a meeting place for youth men and women, we can solve the problem of meeting in the city, and if Seongnam City's policy spreads to Korea and further the world, it can be a way to improve awareness of marriage and alleviate the low birth rate problem."The

The new mayor was invited as a speaker for the first time among the heads of local governments in Korea to receive full support for flight tickets, accommodation and stay.The

Solomon's Choice' event is one of the measures to encourage unmarried young men and women to marry, and is a project that Seongnam City has been promoting for two years.
