The bereaved family of a victim in his 30s who died in a "drunk reverse driving" accident in a tunnel in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do, appealed for stronger punishment for drunk driving.

A, who identified himself as the victim's family, appealed, "Please strengthen the drunk driving punishment law in Korea so that the death of his younger brother, who died unfairly due to a reverse driving accident in Yeongwol, is not in vain."

"The family, which was created by a man's bleeding efforts, collapsed too easily. "It's a common 'drinking driving' in South Korea," he said. "I heard through an article that the perpetrator of the Marine Corps' non-commissioned officer had a history of being tried in the military for drunk driving in the past."

A said about the victim, "I lived a wonderful life as a breadwinner and a man," adding, "Two days before the accident, I moved to Seoul, where I dreamed of, and drew a happy future with my wife and two children."

"I suffer from nightmares every night due to the shock of losing my brother, and my father, who is not allowed to drink, takes the alcohol he gave up, and he added, "Olke held his brother's funeral with bruises on his face and feet, and the children cry every day asking when his father will come."
