It has been reported that Samsung Electronics has postponed receiving ASML equipment ordered for its semiconductor plant in Texas.

Reuter reported on the 18th that Samsung Electronics has delayed receiving ASML equipment from its Taylor City Foundry (Semiconductor Consignment Production) plant in Texas, which invests $17 billion and 23 trillion won in our money, citing multiple anonymous sources.

This is because Samsung Electronics has yet to secure any major customers regarding its TaylorCy plant, Reuters said.

Dutch semiconductor equipment company ASML also reported, citing an official, that it had not yet shipped its high-tech equipment, extreme ultraviolet exposure equipment, to Samsung Electronics earlier this year.

EUV equipment costs $200 million per unit and is used to manufacture advanced semiconductors for smartphones, AI servers, etc.According to Reuters

, Samsung Electronics has also put orders from some other suppliers on hold, adding that companies are looking for other customers or sending back on-site deployment staff.

He also pointed out that this situation highlights the widening gap between competitors such as TSMC and SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics.

ASML cut its earnings forecast for next year, citing delays in construction of semiconductor plants, but did not say which company it was, Reuters said. "Samsung Electronics is the first example of that."

Samsung Electronics has currently postponed the operation time of its Taylor's foundry plant to 2026.
