The Melbourne City Hall building and its surroundings light up the darkened city night.

It is a venue for the 'Veteran Night' event to express gratitude for the dedication of the Australian Korean War veterans.

The comrades gathered in one place for the first time in a long time ask after each other how they are doing, express their feelings, and share friendships.

Decades have passed, but the memories of the war are as clear as yesterday.

[Alan Richards / Australian Korean War Veterans: I went to Korea in 1953 and stayed there for 14 months. It was a truck driver stationed on the hook highlands of the Samicheon Valley. I have no regrets, and I will do it again (even if they tell me to go to war).]

The event was attended by 20 surviving veterans, their families, and the families of the late veterans.

One grandson first wore a medal of peace around his neck in honor of his war hero grandfather, who ended his life.

Australia sent more than 17,000 troops to the Korean Peninsula at the time of June 25.

With the average age of surviving veterans well over 90, the Korean community has rolled up its sleeves for the rest of their time.

The compatriots are supporting them for the rest of their happy lives through various events such as free photoshoots and Christmas parties.

In addition, special programs are being prepared to remember the heroes' dedication for a long time.

The warriors also did not forget to thank the Korean society for presenting precious time.

[Gerald Shepard / Australian Korean War veteran]: I feel that it was rewarding to go to Korea and fight (whenever I participated in these events). It feels good to know that Koreans respect us.]

The Korean community also plans to actively work together to develop programs in various ways that will forever remember the feats of war heroes.
