Ko Young-wook, a singer from Lula who was sentenced to prison on charges of sexual assault by minors, indirectly mentioned veteran actor Lee Management, expressing his unfairness about the forced closure of YouTube channels.
Ko Young-wook said on his X (X, former Twitter) on the 14th, "When I started YouTube, I watched it for a while, and suddenly applied and closed an unfair rule that was not understood only by me, an individual, after seeing the media and public's eyes and saying the reason why it didn't make sense at the speed of light."
He added, "For this reason, I can't talk about everything, but a veteran actor with a similar legal record to me in the past appeared on YouTube and was in a pleasant atmosphere, and this video, which currently has nearly 7 million views, is a situation where each person has done legal punishment for similar things in the past. What is the difference?"
The veteran actor mentioned by Ko Young-wook is presumed to be Lee Management. He appeared on a YouTube entertainment show hosted by broadcaster Shin Dong-yup and revealed the behind-the-scenes story of a scene from the movie "Insiders." Lee was arrested in 2002 on charges of prostitution by minors and sentenced to 10 months in prison, two years of probation, and 160 hours of community service.
Meanwhile, Ko Young-wook opened a YouTube channel in August and said, "I lived a shameful life. I feel like I'm getting old at home complaining, so I start YouTube rambling to get out of my lethargic daily life," he said, explaining the reason for opening the channel.
However, the channel was forced to shut down after two weeks. Prior to this, Ko Young-wook opened Instagram in 2020, but it was closed in two days.
