Recently, after allegations of manipulation of opinion polls during the election, led by Myung Tae-kyun, the authorities decided to come up with measures to improve illegal and unfair election polls.

The Central Election Public Opinion Review Committee under the Central Election Commission recently sent a system improvement plan to each poll company, which calls for Internet media companies to make it mandatory to report election public opinion surveys in advance.

Under the Public Official Election Act, the investigation must be reported to the Women's Commission two days before the poll, but political parties, broadcasters, newspapers, or Internet media companies with more than 100,000 users are not obligated to report.

According to the improvement plan prepared by the Women's Review and Assessment Committee, Internet media companies are required to report regardless of the average number of daily users, and only daily newspapers among newspapers are exempt from the obligation to report.

It also included operating a quality evaluation committee before and after the election to force poor poll companies to exit naturally and prohibiting prior disclosure of election poll schedules.
