A drunk driver who ran through an alleyway in defiance of police's demand for a stop and hit another vehicle has been caught by police.
Gwanak Police Station in Seoul booked a man in his 20s accused of drunk driving and inaction after the accident.
Mr. A is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol in Sillim-dong, Seoul, at around 6 a.m. on the 13th, and hitting another vehicle while running away from the police.
The police, who were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of suspected drunk driving at the time, unsuspected A, who was walking on a two-lane road, reportedly denied the charges, saying he was on his way home after drinking alcohol.
However, the police found that Mr. A got in the car and started driving while working as a base nearby, and arrested him after tracing him for about 2 kilometers.
It was investigated that A ran through the alleyway ignoring the police's request to stop and caused a contact accident with another vehicle.
The police said A attempted to flee to a nearby convenience store after getting out of the car, but quickly arrested him, adding that they will send him without detention after completing further investigation.
