When the U.S. announced a plan to sell arms to Taiwan worth 2.7 trillion won, the largest of the Joe Biden administration, China protested, calling it a violation of its sovereignty.

According to Taiwan's Central News Agency, the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced a plan to sell $1.988 billion worth of weapons on the 25th local time and about 2.76 trillion won worth of our money.

These included three high-tech surface-to-air missiles and related facilities that the Western camp decided to support Ukraine.

"This arms sale will help Taiwan respond to current and future threats, defend its airspace, and promote regional security," the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency said. "The NASAMS plan will improve joint operational capabilities with the United States."

China immediately protested against the United States.

"The U.S. arms sales to China and Taiwan are a serious violation of the 'One China' principle and the three major joint statements of China and the United States, which severely violate China's sovereignty and security interests and seriously destroy bilateral relations," a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement posted on its website.
