The Democratic Party of Korea has officially announced that it will respond to Chairman Lee Jae-myung's trial on the Public Official Election Act at the party level as the issue of returning election reserves is at stake. It also drew a line on the possibility of replacing
leadership, and slammed the court for imposing a heavy sentence equivalent to 'decrease the right to run for office for 10 years'.

Democratic Party Secretary-General Kim Yoon-deok said that the party will respond to the trial of Lee Jae-myung, who was given a suspended sentence in the first trial.
If the fine is more than 1 million won, the presidential election expenses of 43.4 billion won will have to be returned to the national treasury, so they will consider setting up lawyers directly from the party.
[Kim Yoon-deok / Secretary-General of the Democratic Party of Korea: We plan to take legal action by taking some measures more specifically and directly at the party level than we have done so far.]
The party's prosecution's dictatorship task force, which includes former prosecutors, set the day for the court, calling it a "political judgment to kill Lee Jae-myung" in sympathy with the "political prosecution."
Legislative and judicial members of the Democratic Party of Korea and the Cho Kuk Innovation Party are also focusing on public opinion, accusing them of a political trial that copied and pasted the prosecution's indictment.
[Kim Moon-soo / Director of the Information Center of the Democratic Party of Korea's Prosecution Dictatorship Committee: The crisis of the government due to Yoon Suk Yeol and Kim Gun-hee's manipulation of state affairs is solely for the removal of Lee Jae-myung's political opponent and the oppression of the main opposition Democratic Party....]
Secretary-General Kim drew a line, saying there was no possibility of a "leadership change," and emphasized that solidarity is better without shaking.
In fact, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon, former Blue House Chief of Staff Lim Jong-seok and other non-Lee Jae-myung officials expressed regret over the judiciary's ruling.
However, the first meeting, a group of former lawmakers in the non-governmental circles, is also seen stretching, such as unveiling a lecture schedule invited by former Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum, who is considered a presidential candidate next month.
The Democratic Party of Korea is also paying attention to the results of the first trial of Lee Jae-myung's perjury teacher, which will be held on the 25th.
Some worry that the outcome of the trial could adversely affect the re-vote of the Kim Gun-hee independent counsel law, which the Democratic Party of Korea has focused on.
