Foreign media, which expressed surprise, saying they could not believe it, continue to analyze the repercussions of Korea's declaration and lifting of martial law in detail.

The general response is that President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law without justification to escape the political predicament.

The BBC pointed out that President Yoon has put forward the threat of anti-state forces and North Korea, but it quickly became clear that the declaration of martial law was due to his political crisis.

It also said protesters gathered outside the National Assembly shouted for the arrest of Yoon Suk Yeol, although it was unclear what would happen.

The BBC analyzed that the declaration of martial law will damage Korea's reputation as a democracy as much as the U.S. January 6 parliamentary riot.

An expert who appeared on CNN pointed out that President Yoon is the worst political error.

When asked by the host what the president was trying to get with martial law, Korean expert David Sanger said, "It's a real question."

At the same time, a U.S. official said that President Yoon's declaration of martial law seems to be entirely aimed at taking control of politics, given that he did not specify the security threat in North Korea.

The Washington Post also predicted that martial law would cause a widespread stir in Korea, which is famous for its passionate democracy, although it was only six hours long.

The newspaper cited President Yoon's crushing defeat in the general election and his low approval rating as the background of martial law.

At the same time, he introduced the relocation of Cheong Wa Dae, response to the Itaewon disaster, medical turmoil, and the acceptance of Kim Gun-hee's luxury bags as major situations.

Reuters analyzed that the situation will have a negative impact on Korea's financial and foreign exchange markets, as well as make it difficult to participate in multilateral diplomacy.

AFP said that the lifting of martial law after a brief period of martial law in South Korea, which was praised as an example of democratization, shows the vulnerability of democracy as well as its ability to recover.
