President Yoon Suk Yeol is expected to consider his future course and countermeasures by watching the political situation without further expressing his position today, such as a statement or press conference.
A senior presidential official said in a phone call with YTN today that President Yoon is reportedly considering announcing his public apology today.
Another high-ranking official also said that he does not think it is desirable for the president to take a position to influence the vote ahead of the National Assembly's impeachment vote, and that there will be no meeting with President Yoon today.
The official also explained that President Yoon should make the next decision after humbly watching the impeachment vote as the opposition to President Yoon's impeachment was set as the party's theory in the ruling party.
Regarding some of the ruling party's demands for President Yoon's defection, he declined to say, saying, "I understand that it is not a resolution at the general meeting of the lawmakers."
Regarding the senior presidential staff's expression of a collective resignation, he said that senior-level officials who should assist the president have failed as a result, and predicted that they will be replaced on time regardless of the outcome of the impeachment.
