Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun visited the ROK-US Combined Forces Command for the first time since taking office to confirm the ROK-US joint defense posture.
The Ministry of National Defense said that Minister Kim visited the ROK-US Combined Forces in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do today (4th) to hear a mission briefing from Commander Paul Ruckamara and to strengthen his defense posture to prevent the enemy from provoking.
He then said that there is no mercy on the enemy threatening the Republic of Korea, and if North Korea provokes, it will face an overwhelming response from the alliance based on its regular combat posture.
Minister Kim also said that the newly established South Korean Strategic Command will be a key strategic unit for the concrete implementation of the Korea-U.S. integrated expansion deterrence, and called for close cooperation with the allied companies.
