More than half of the Board of Audit and Inspection's employees who committed crimes in the last five years were found to have only taken minor internal disciplinary actions such as admonishment, reprimand, and warnings.

According to data received by Park Ji-won, a member of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, from the Board of Audit and Inspection, only nine out of 21 employees who were caught in criminal acts from 2020 to August this year were disciplined with a salary cut or higher.

The rest were six reprimands and three admonitions and warnings each, and in some cases, a third-grade employee, a high-ranking government official, resigned without internal disciplinary action even though he was sent away for assault.
