In response to some claims that the Korean government promised financial support for the Czech Republic's new nuclear power plant project, Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Ahn Deok-geun said it was not true.

Minister Ahn, who attended a parliamentary audit of the Ministry of Industry by the National Assembly's Trade, Industry and Energy Small and Medium Venture Business Committee today, refuted Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Jung-ho's question that the investment letter submitted by the Export-Import Bank of Korea and the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation contained such information, saying it was not true at all.

Minister Ahn also explained that the previous government also sent seven letters of intent to nuclear power plant-related projects, saying, "Investment letters are customary and are common to cooperate."

Minister Ahn later got a direct say and read the original text of the investment letter written in English.
