Four out of 10 wage workers in their 20s are non-regular workers.

As of the same month since the start of related statistics, it has been counted as the highest proportion ever.

I'm connecting with the reporter. Reporter Choi Doohee!

First of all, the proportion of non-regular workers among wage workers in their 20s was the highest ever as of August since 2003, right?

[Reporter]
Yes. Four out of 10 wage workers in their 20s are non-regular workers, the highest proportion ever.

According to the National Statistical Portal of the National Statistical Office, as of August, 1,461,000 non-regular workers were counted among wage workers in their 20s.

Among wage workers in their 20s, the proportion of non-regular workers is 43.1%.

It is the highest proportion ever as of August since 2003 when related statistics began to be prepared.

If you look at it by type of work.

Among the non-regular workers in their 20s, the number of so-called "part-time workers" working more than an hour shorter than the prescribed working hours of workers working at the same workplace has increased.

The number of part-time workers was 817,000, up 401,000 from 10 years ago.

The share of part-time workers among wage workers also nearly doubled from 12.4% to 24.1% over the same period.

But among all non-regular workers, the proportion of them voluntarily choosing non-regular jobs was also high?

[Reporter]
Yes. 66.6% of all non-regular workers voluntarily chose non-regular jobs.

This proportion is also the highest since related statistics were compiled, and it seems that more and more people are voluntarily choosing non-regular workers.

Among the voluntary reasons, 59.9% of the respondents said they were satisfied with working conditions.

In the job market, it seems that the tendency to prefer experienced workers to new employees and regular public bonds from time to time may have had an effect.

It is analyzed that young people jump into non-regular workers more than before to build related careers.

In addition, 31.4% of young people with employment experience accounted for the first job in May, when the first job was a wage-earning job with a contract period of less than one year.

It was the highest ever since related statistics were published.

The lack of quality jobs at the youth's eye level is likely to have led to this increase in non-regular workers.
