Amid weak domestic demand and internal and external uncertainties, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Choi Sang-mok said he would maximize policy effects with an unprecedented pace and pace of budget execution.
Deputy Prime Minister Choi made the remarks today at the Economic and Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Ministerial Meeting at the Government Complex Seoul.
Choi said he would implement allocations before the start of the fiscal year as much as possible, ease enforcement regulations, deliver next year's budget to the public from New Year's Day, and mobilize all available resources in the public sector.
He also said he will make the recovery of people's livelihoods a top priority in next year's economic policy direction and revitalize small business owners, workers and local economies through sectoral policy prescriptions such as consumption, tourism and construction.
In addition, it announced that it will provide customized support for vulnerable groups such as young people, middle and old people, small business owners, and vulnerable workers, and reduce the burden of core living expenses such as food and housing.
Deputy Prime Minister Choi announced that he would specify these policy tasks and announce them early next week through the "2025 Economic Policy Direction."
