But in 1840, the world's first stamp 'Penny Black' appeared.
Now anyone can freely send a letter with just a penny.
Especially on Christmas, there were a lot of warm-hearted letters.
But it's a hassle to write letters by hand every time.
That's why it was born as a Christmas card.
