The Supreme Court ruled that the disposition of the high-ranking government official's criminal investigation office, which did not indict the prosecutors who first investigated former Vice Justice Minister Kim Hak-ui's allegations of sexual entertainment at the villa, on charges of dereliction of duty, is reasonable.
The Supreme Court rejected an appeal filed by Cha Kyu-geun of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party against the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, saying that the acquittal of former Vice Minister Kim's initial investigation team was unfair.
Last year, Cha filed a ruling against the prosecution's initial investigation team prosecutors on charges of special dereliction of duty, saying the prosecution had ignored the investigation of former Vice Minister Kim, and objected to the acquittal of the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit.
