The government has decided to pay special allowances to public medical institutions suffering from a shortage of personnel due to lower medical fees than private hospitals.

Park Min-soo, the second vice minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, said at a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters today (24th) that doctors' pay at public medical institutions, which plays a pivotal role in essential medical care, is significantly lower than that of the private sector, and that special allowances will be paid to effectively improve medical treatment.

Vice Minister Park also welcomed the announcement of the intention of the Korean Medical Association and the Korean Medical and Medical Association to participate in the ruling and opposition parliamentary consultative body, and asked other medical groups to participate.
