The civic group Work Gapjil 119 released cases of residents who used abusive language and power abuse to apartment management workers and urged them to supplement the system to eradicate power abuse.

In the case disclosed by the group, Lee, a resident of Mapo residential and commercial apartments, has been verbally abusive and abusing his power since 2019, such as asking security guards to patrol the smoking area every 10 minutes or asking apartment management staff to bark like dogs.

In October last year, the Seoul Western District Court sentenced Lee to one year in prison with two years of probation and ordered 80 hours of community service.

Workplace Gapjil 119 pointed out that Lee should also pay 45 million won in alimony to the victims, and that the regulations on fines under the Apartment Housing Management Act should be supplemented.
