A woman in her 20s who asked a judge why drugs were illegal on the day of her sentence was sentenced to probation.
Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court sentenced A, in his 20s, to one year in prison and two years of probation for violating the Narcotics Control Act.
The court explained that the amount of drugs handled by Mr. A is not light on guilt due to the considerable amount of drugs, but it considered that it was a first-time offender and that no separate distribution situation was confirmed.
In addition, in light of the fact that A's family is pleading for leniency, saying they will work hard to prevent recidivism, it was decided that the execution of the prison sentence would be suspended on the condition of probation.
Mr. A is accused of buying methamphetamine more than 10 times on Telegram for more than half a year since July last year.
