Thailand is making all-out efforts to revive the tourism industry in the northern part of the country, including Chiang Mai, which suffered severe flood damage.

Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports is pushing for emergency measures to pay 400 baht and 16,000 won to 10,000 visitors from northern regions such as Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai from the 1st of next month.

It is also said that a cabinet meeting will be held in Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai to boost the local economy and boost residents' morale.

Chiang Mai, Thailand's second-largest city, has been flooded by recent floods, flooding major tourist destinations such as Tapagate and Night Bazaar and shutting down most of its downtown stores.

The full-fledged restoration work began as the water drained, but it is expected to take a long time to find itself completely covered with mud throughout the city.

The tourism industry directly or indirectly accounts for 20% of Thailand's GDP.
