Nine dead in Anhui house fire shortly after Xi Jinping visit

Nine people have been killed in a house fire in the eastern province of Anhui, which was recently visited by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Local media reported that a fire broke out at around 5 a.m. yesterday (19th) in a four-story detached house in Panji District, Huainan City, Anhui Province.

Then, he said that the house was occupied by foreign workers (farmers) who worked at the construction site of the nearby power plant.

The Anhui fire broke out two days after President Xi Jinping, who has emphasized the prevention of major disasters, inspected the cities of Anhui Tongcheng and Hefei on the 17th.
