Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce company, will suspend same-day delivery services, CNBC reported.

CNBC quoted a source as saying on the 22nd local time that the same-day delivery service called "Amazon Today," which Amazon has been operating, will mostly end on December 2.

It has been more than two years since some stores in the U.S. began same-day delivery in August 2022.300 employees working in the

'Amazon Today' division learned of the news on the 21st, with some notified that they would be laid off, the sources said.

Amazon has been expanding its same-day delivery service by continuing to add facilities focused on fast delivery as the competition for delivery between U.S. retailers intensifies, CNBC explained, but it has stopped to cut costs.

CEO Andy Jash, who succeeded Amazon founder Jeff Bezos as Amazon CEO in 2021, has taken a tougher stance than Bezos on the unproven and costly sector, CNBC added.
