It has been confirmed that the government received a warning letter from FIFA from the Korea Football Association before announcing the results of an interim audit of the process for appointing Hong Myung-bo of the national soccer team.

An official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the Korea Football Association delivered it to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism immediately after receiving an official letter from the International Football Federation and FIFA on the 30th of last month.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the results of an interim audit of the Korea Football Association on the 2nd, explaining that it received FIFA's official letter before that.

The official document said that the Korea Football Association has a legal obligation to ensure that it is not unduly affected by outside influences.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism explained in a briefing on the results of the interim audit that there was a defect in the process of appointing the coach, but reiterated the independence and autonomy of the Korea Football Association, making it difficult to judge the contract of coach Hong Myung-bo as invalid.
