It was the coldest this fall, with temperatures dropping to 11.6 degrees this morning in Seoul.

The 18th typhoon 'Kuraton', which developed into a super-powerful typhoon, is expected to hit near Taiwan between tonight and tomorrow and then weaken to a tropical depression.

We will connect with reporters to find out the temperature and typhoon prospects. Reporter Kim Minkyung!

It's still quite chilly in the morning, how much has the temperature dropped?

[Reporter]
Yes, the morning temperature in Seoul today is 11.6 degrees, which is 9 degrees lower than yesterday.

It's the lowest temperature this fall.

In addition, the lowest temperatures were seen in various parts of the country, including 10.8 degrees in Daejeon and 14.3 degrees in Daegu.

In particular, the temperature of Mt. Seorak plummeted to 0.2 degrees Celsius, and the wind chill dropped to minus 7 degrees Celsius.

The reason is that the cold air of the northwest came down behind the rain clouds that affected the country yesterday.

As of 1:30 p.m., Seoul will be 18.7 degrees, 21 degrees in the middle of the day, lower than usual, and gusts of more than 15 meters per second will occur inland and in the mountains.

The colder weather than usual is expected to continue until tomorrow, the National Foundation Day holiday.

I'll also look into the typhoon situation.

'Kuraton', a super-strong typhoon, is expected to weaken after passing near Taiwan?

[Reporter]
Yes, this is the typhoon information from the Korea Meteorological Administration at 10 a.m. just now.Typhoon 'Kuraton', the 18th typhoon of

, stagnated in the hot southwest of Taiwan yesterday and developed very strong in strength to 'super-strong',

It has now weakened to a 'very strong' level as it approaches Taiwan.

It is still a strong typhoon with strong winds reaching 50m per second near the center.

This typhoon will hit Taiwan tonight or tomorrow,

is expected to significantly weaken its power to the 'medium' level in the process.

After the typhoon escaped to the sea, it was expected to weaken to the tropical low pressure area earlier than expected.

Therefore, it is less likely that typhoons will directly affect the Korean Peninsula.

However, in the form of low pressure, it is expected to move slowly along the southern coast of China from northeastern Taiwan to the weekend and holidays.

Since then, the situation has been somewhat fluid, but in this condition, there is a possibility that the rain clouds left by the typhoon will move near the Korean Peninsula after the weekend and affect it.

Prior to this, due to the influence of steam and cold air flowing from the south over the stepping-stone holiday and weekend, strong rain and wind are expected to blow around the south and east and high waves at sea, which requires caution.
