Fall foliage is expected to peak in the southern part of the country by the end of this month.

There must be many people who have planned to climb for the fall foliage season, but you should be careful because mountain accidents are increasing significantly every year at this time.

JCN Ulsan Central Broadcasting Station reporter Park Young-hoon reports on how to prevent and deal with accidents.

The climber who was climbing the mountain stops walking and floats down to his seat.

[Climber: I fell and injured my ankle while hiking. This is Sinseonsan Mountain, and the place where I am now is the national branch number 'Mama 6515 2632'.]

The 119 rescue team, which was dispatched, sought to determine the exact location based on the hiker's report,

[119 Rescuers: Situation Room, this is the southern rescue zone, and we are currently on the way to the mountain rescue of the Sinseon Mountain. If the location is identified, please send the location to this side.]

Keep in touch until the rescue team finds the person to be rescued, and determine the condition of the person to be rescued.

[Climber: (What's wrong with you right now?) I sprained my ankle and fell down and hurt my back, so I can't move. (My ankle and back?) Yes. (You're fine anywhere else, right?) I can't move. (Yes, I see. We're on our way.)]

After a while, 119 rescuers arrive, and the rescuers secure the hiker's injured ankle and move it safely on a stretcher.

When you report 119 rescue while hiking, it is helpful to quickly rescue the rescue team by identifying the longitude and latitude through such a national branch number or map app.

A total of 1,244 mountain accidents have occurred in Ulsan over the past three years.

Of these, 457 cases, or about 37% of them, occurred in the fall season when autumn foliage hiking was concentrated.

On the 10th, a man in his 60s fell on a rock in Sinbulsan Mountain and injured his wrist and ankle, and a rescue team rescued the man and transported him to a hospital by helicopter.

In order to prevent such mountain accidents, it is recommended to refrain from drinking and hiking, and for elderly or beginner hikers, it is recommended not to overdo hiking.

[Lee Chang-wook / Fire Chief of Ulsan Nambu Fire Station: To prevent mountain accidents, it is best to check the weather forecast in advance, stretch enough before mountain, and use the designated hiking trail that suits your physical strength.]

Failure to use designated hiking trails may increase the risk of safety accidents and delay the rescue team's search for those who are rescued.

In addition, if you are injured while hiking, anyone can use the 119 simple rescue box installed around the trail for first aid.
