The transportation cost support project for pregnant women introduced by Incheon City this year as a countermeasure for low birth rate is receiving a good response.
The Incheon Metropolitan Government said 17,103 people applied for the transportation cost support project for pregnant women, which has been in effect since April.
The project is to provide 500,000 won per person for transportation to 12,500 pregnant women who became pregnant last year and give birth this year.
To this end, the Incheon Metropolitan Government has set aside 5 billion won in this year's municipal budget and secured an additional 6 billion won for 15,000 pregnant people after this year.
In addition, reflecting the opinions of pregnant women, the application period for transportation expenses was increased from 30 days after childbirth to 90 days.
Pregnant women can apply for transportation through the government 24, and the subsidy will be paid in the local currency, 'Incheon joint' points.
