"30% off delivery sales"...In the end, I also decided to work with him.

Hansot, a lunchbox franchise company, said it will set a separate price for delivery apps, citing high fees for delivery apps.

Even if it is the same product, the price when ordering through delivery applications (apps) such as Baedal Minjok, Coupang Eats, and Yogiyo will be higher than the store sales price.

The spread of such a "double pricing system" among large franchisees is expected to ignite controversy over fees for delivery apps.

Han Pot recently posted a notice on its website and announced that it will operate a separate sales price on its delivery app.

"The delivery platform continues to raise various costs of free delivery services, putting all those costs on merchants," said Han Pot. "About 30% of delivery sales are paid to the delivery platform, leaving no profit for merchants."

For example, "Chicken Mayo," the main menu of a one-pot lunch box, is sold at 3,800 won in stores, but the price is set at 4,600 won on delivery apps. Plum Blossom Lunch Box' has a price difference of 10,500 won, 11,300 won, and 4,900 won and 5,700 won for Donkatsu Master, respectively, in stores and delivery apps.

After the news became known, controversy arose among Internet users. Some consumers responded with dissatisfaction, such as "It's too expensive even if it's due to the burden of delivery," and "I'll just hang up the delivery and go get (a lunch box)."

Some said they sympathized with the measures taken by the same team. There were also opinions such as "I should delete the delivery app," and "The hard work is done by self-employed people, but only intermediaries or platforms are always full." A netizen who identified himself as a self-employed said, "25 percent of sales (by delivery) will fly away (by delivery) including delivery costs and VAT."

Meanwhile, famous hamburger franchises such as McDonald's and Lotteria and coffee chains such as Mega MGC Coffee and Compos have also officially introduced double pricing.
