Japan to dispatch two transport planes near Lebanon as situation in Middle East worsens

The Japanese government sent two Air Self-Defense Forces transport planes to Jordan and Greece, respectively, near Lebanon, this morning in consideration of the deteriorating situation in the Middle East.

The Japanese government plans to use transport planes to evacuate its citizens from Lebanon, where fighting between Israel and militant Hezbollah is taking place.

It is known that there are about 50 Japanese people living in Lebanon.
