The 18th typhoon 'Kuraton' is expected to weaken from Taiwan to a tropical depression in the morning, and will not have a direct impact on Korea.

Yes, Typhoon No. 18 'Kuraton' weakened from inland Taiwan to a tropical depression at 9 a.m.

As the typhoon moved inland from Taiwan, it weakened sharply due to the influence of the high mountain range in the east and the shallow depth in the west.

Contrary to what was feared, the typhoon will not directly affect Korea, and the impact of the rain clouds left by the typhoon is not expected to be significant.

However, up to 60mm of rain is expected on Jeju Island and the south on Sunday and Monday, and high waves of up to 4m are expected at sea.

Yes, the first autumn leaves were observed at Mt. Seorak in Gangwon-do today.

It is 4 days later than last year and 6 days later than usual.

Fall foliage begins to turn red when the daily minimum temperature falls below 5°C, and when the entire mountain is colored about 20% from the top, it is said to be the beginning of autumn leaves.

Starting with Seoraksan Mountain, autumn leaves are expected to be colored in Bukhansan Mountain around October 18 and Naejangsan Mountain on the 24th.

The peak of autumn leaves is based on when about 80% of the entire mountain is colored, and usually begins to appear about two weeks after the first autumn leaves.
