Former Presidential Chief of Staff Kim Dae-ki as New Ambassador to China
Former presidential chief of staff Kim Dae-ki has been appointed as the new ambassador to China.


Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok explained the background of his internal affairs, saying that Kim has a lot of experience in promoting economic cooperation projects with China, including the Korea-China FTA and resolving trade conflicts between Korea and China.

He also said that his understanding of China's social and cultural history and high-quality Chinese proficiency are expected to develop bilateral relations and achieve diplomatic achievements worthy of Korea's status in the turbulent Northeast Asian order.

Kim served as the presidential chief of staff from May 2022 to the end of last year, and served as the policy chief of the Lee Myung Bak government, the senior secretary for economy, the vice minister of culture, sports and tourism, and the head of the National Statistical Office.
