The New York Times recently called our country the 'lone country' with the lowest birth rate in the world and most of them live alone.
Mothers who gave birth to and raised as many as "13 siblings" who rebelled against this analysis were selected as meritorious people for Pregnant Women's Day on the 10th.

The first protagonist is Eom Gye-sook, a 60-year-old woman with five sons and eight daughters.

He received the National Medal of Merit Pomegranate for his contribution to spreading the value of childbirth and parenting through various lecture activities,
The 59-year-old Lee Young-mi, who is the mother of actor Nam Bo-ra and also raised 13 siblings, received the national prize.

In addition to various childbirth promotion activities, they have organized social organizations that deliver lunch boxes to children and have been sharing activities.

Lee Young-mi said, "It was not without difficulties after 20 years of pregnancy and childbirth, but I think happy moments come more often than others thanks to my children."
"It seems that there is a desperate need for work culture to use childcare leave without paying attention, childbirth and childcare support for self-employed people who do not have parental leave and cannot take time off work," he said.

It would be impossible without love to have 13 children and raise them in the reality that it is difficult to have even one.

Vice Minister of Health and Welfare Lee Ki-il said, "To have a happy pregnancy and childbirth, we need warm eyes and consideration from our society," adding, "The government will also support it through more careful and practical policies."
Based on the efforts of the
government, individual perceptions will also change, and we look forward to the day when Korea is considered the happiest and most loving country, not the 'loneest country in the world'.
