Special Measures for Marine Accidents from October to December...Establishment of safety inspection plan

The government designates October to December as a special countermeasure period for marine accidents, and conducts preventive activities for each institution to minimize casualties.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security held a meeting presided over by Lee Han-kyung, head of the Disaster and Safety Management Headquarters, to check the cooperation system and preparedness of each institution in relation to marine ship accidents, and to discuss ways to strengthen on-site response capabilities such as search and rescue.

First of all, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries plans to establish a joint safety inspection plan for fishing boats, and the Korea Coast Guard plans to conduct a special crackdown on non-reporting of ports of entry, drunk operation, and excess capacity.
