Appeals Court approves 'accounting fraud' Lee Jae-yong to change indictment

The appeals court, which will hear Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong's allegations of unfair merger, is expected to take a closer look at Samsung Biologics' alleged accounting fraud.

The Seoul High Court held a trial date for Chairman Lee's appeal today (14th) and allowed the prosecution to change the indictment.

Last month, the prosecution applied for a change in the indictment, reflecting a first trial ruling by the Seoul Administrative Court, which admitted that there were some problems with Samsung Bio's accounting process.

The prosecution is expected to make all-out efforts to prove accounting fraud charges based on an administrative court ruling to overturn the results of the first trial that acquitted Chairman Lee.
