"The murderer takes the death penalty"...Japan also urges murder suspects to 'disclose personal information and execute death sentence'
Baek Arrested for Killing a Neighbor by Swinging a Japanese Knife / Yonhap News
The victim's bereaved family has demanded the disclosure of the identity of the perpetrator who killed a neighbor with a Japanese road in an apartment in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.

Today (14th), Nam Eon-ho, a lawyer representing Vincent Law Office, who is the legal representative of the bereaved family, issued a statement saying that the identity of the perpetrator, Baek, should be disclosed.

Lawyer Nam is currently in charge of both the Japanese murder case and the "Extension Murder Case" in Jungnang-gu, Seoul. He mentioned that while the personal information of Choi Sung-woo, the suspect of "extended murder," was disclosed, the personal information of the suspect, Baek, was not disclosed in the case of the "Japanese murder case."

Regarding the inconsistent judgment of the investigative agency, lawyer Nam pointed out, "It is not unreasonable to imagine that if the investigative agency had been reversed, there would have been other results."

The murder case in Japan was a case in which Baek in his 30s brandished a 102cm-long Japanese island at an apartment in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul in July, killing Kim in his 40s. Baek was found to have committed the crime under the delusion that a Chinese spy followed him.

In August, Choi Sung-woo killed a resident in his 70s who met at a smoking area at an apartment in Jungnang-gu, Seoul. Mr. A was p

unched by Mr. Choi in his dozens of times and hit his head on the flower bed several times, eventually dying.

"The murderer takes the death penalty"...Japan also urges murder suspects to 'disclose personal information and execute death sentence'
Choi Sung-woo, who is accused of beating a neighbor in his 70s to death in an apartment smoking area, provided by the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office.

The police and the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office refused to disclose personal information about Baek, a suspect in the murder case in Japan, saying, "It has little preventive effect due to suspected mental illness, and there may be secondary harm to the victim's bereaved family." On the other hand, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office decided to disclose personal information of Choi Sung-woo, a suspect in the smoking area murder case, saying, "The cruelty of the means of the crime, serious damage, and public interests are all satisfied."

In January this year, the "Act on Disclosure of Personal Information such as Suspects of Specific Serious Crimes" (Act on Disclosure of Personal Information of Serious Crimes) was implemented, but lawyer Nam said, "The requirements for disclosure of personal information are ambiguous," adding, "The problem is arbitrary law enforcement, whose conclusions vary depending on the investigative agency."

He then insisted on changing the system so that the disclosure of personal information is carried out in a unified standard and procedure like issuing an arrest warrant.

Lawyer Nam also said of the perpetrator, Baek, "I urge the need for severe punishment for the 'murder crimes of abnormal motives by delusion' that continue to occur and the death sentence and execution of the highest sentence in the court." He then urged the presidential office, the National Assembly and the Minister of Justice to sentence and execute the death penalty, saying, "The only realization of legal justice corresponding to the heinous murder crime that cannot be reflected is the death penalty.
