About 30% of surveillance cameras installed at overseas missions, such as Korean embassies abroad, have been confirmed to be made in China.

According to the data submitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the People's Power of Ahn Cheol Soo of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, 28% of the 6,000 CCTVs installed at 167 overseas missions, including embassies, consulates, and overseas representatives, are from China.

In particular, 36% of Europe's diplomatic missions, or one of the three, were made in China.

However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that CCTVs at overseas missions are operated safely, such as installing them separately from external networks to prevent hacking according to security regulations.

He also explained that he was replacing Chinese CCTVs sequentially in consideration of local conditions, and that he had replaced more than 1,200 Chinese CCTVs last year.

It has been confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Seoul is not using Chinese CCTVs.
